Henry, John Thomas, 86, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2019 at his home in White Bear Lake. He is survied by his wife, Carla and children, Alexandra Bartolic (William), Elizabeth Henry (Ronn Easton), John Thomas Henry, Jr. (Shannon), and Catherine Olsen (Greg); eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. John grew up in Bald Eagle Lake, graduated from White Bear High School in 1951 before graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in business administration and a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. In 1956 he began active duty in the USAF as a flight instructor for single engine jets. In 1959 he began his long career with the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper as a salesman in classified advertising. Following a number of positions in the advertising department he became General Manager in 1976 and President and Publisher in 1985. he retired as Chairman in 1992. During his career John held leadership positions with a number of local organizations, including the St. Paul Chamber of Commerece, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Junior Achievement, and others. John had many talents, interests and achievements that kept him active during his lifetime. He was respected and loved by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at BRADSHAW 4600 Greenhaven Dr. in White Bear Lake, MN 55127 on Sunday June 9th from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Service to follow.
