John Benedict Rubbelke, age 92, resident of Birchwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 8, 2022.
Preceded in death by Delores, loving wife of 66 yrs; his father, John B. Rubbelke Sr. and mother Agnes (Wolfe) Rubbelke; step- mother, Regina; brothers, Robert, Jerome, Richard and Michael Rubbelke; sisters, Margaret Larson and Sr. Marie Rubbelke.
Survived by; children, Tom (Kathy), Doug (Cindy), Diane (Joseph) Gerwood, Scott (Sue), Todd (Jodi) Rubbelke; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister Connie (Wayne) Mashuga; brother-in-law Jack (Doreen) Atchison; sisters-in-law Linda (Clair) Atchison and Lois Rubbelke.
John (Red) was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at 3M, later at the Pioneer Press and part-time at the Minneapolis Star & Tribune as a foreman and journeyman. He and Delores enjoyed their 23 years of retirement at Nelson Lake in Wisconsin and spending time with their family.
Funeral Service for John held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Bradshaw White Bear (4600 Greenhaven Drive). Family and friends may visit an hour prior. Luncheon to follow service, with interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Mahtomedi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Lady of Peace Hospice and South Shore Lutheran Church.
