John Nicholas Sklarow

Age 80, of Lake Elmo, MN, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, Dec 31, 2024. He was born May 21, 1944, in Flint, MI. John was preceded in death by his sister, Betty; and his parents, Nicholas and Dorothy Sklarow. He is survived by his wife, Takako Matsunaga; and his children, Kent and Lauren Sklarow.

John was a software engineer and achieved advanced degrees in computer science and mathematics. He had a never ending curiosity for all things. His deep appreciation for the arts, ranging from the visual arts, a wide swath of music genres, and dance, was something he eagerly took time to share with family and friends. From the latest development in quantum mechanics, Scarlatti, to even Riverdance ("that Michael Flatley is something else!"), he held wonder for the world around him. John loved and treasured his family very much. A deeply empathetic person-his ethos was to always treat others with kindness and, most importantly, to do good in the world.

John's body was laid to rest on January 7th, 2025 at Acacia Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN, USA, Earth, Solar System, Orion Arm, Milky Way Galaxy, Virgo Supercluster, Observable Universe
