John H. "Jack", Jr., 75, of North Port, FL, died on March 15, 2004. He was born on September 3, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MN. He moved to Florida 19 years ago from Minneapolis. He was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service in Minneapolis for 30 years; then he was the #1 Bartender for William A. Garvey, VFW Post 8203 in North Port. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran; a member of William A. Garvey, VFW Post 8203 and the American Legion in Minneapolis. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Alice A. Steenberg of North Port, FL; daughters, Sharon Myers, Karen Foth, Linda Hall, Sue Smith, Kimberly Baum; sons, Richard Baum, Gary Baum, Mark Steenberg; brother, Jerry Steenberg; sister, Shirley McDonald; all of Minneapolis; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Service 11:30 AM Friday, March 19, 2004, at BRADSHAW (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave S. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
