Jonathan Paul Henschen

Jon was born on July 3, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma and father, Paul; brother-in-law, Dan O’Brien (husband of his sister, Barbara.) He is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughters, Hannah and Addie; siblings, Barbara O’Brien, Greg, Nancy Patrick, and Doug (Anne).  Jon grew up in suburban Chicago and attended Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

 After moving to California, he started working as a janitor. He began his career at General Optics working as a Laser Optic Engineer.  During this time, Jon dedicated his life to Jesus. He had a profound encounter with the Lord that transformed him and carried him through to the rest of his life. This is when he met Jackie, the love of his life. Jackie’s pastor led him to the Lord prior to their meeting at her church.  They were married in 1988 in California where they lived until 1995. They moved to Maplewood, Minnesota where they started their family.  In 2003, they moved to Marine on St. Croix.

 Jon worked in financial services for 18 years.  He was pleased to receive a career award of “25 Most Influential People In and Around the Advisory Universe”, by The Investment Advisor Group. In 2022, he received the “Luminary Award for Leadership in the Advisory Investment Universe”. In his career, he wrote over 120 articles for the financial investment field. A love of learning continued throughout his life. He loved Jackie and his daughters, Hannah and Addie. They had a family cabin where they enjoyed many happy hours. Fishing, rock hunting with Jackie, reading, and boating were favorite pass times.

His life came to a sudden end on July 4, 2023 from an unexpected cardiac event. 

He is lovingly remembered and deeply grieved by his family and friends.
