Joseph "Joe" Cramer, age 50 of Minneapolis, passed away on September 15, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Cramer and Betty Spencer; brother, Michael Cramer; brother-in-law, Arvid Neuschwander.
A graduate of South High School, a tow truck driver and motorcycle enthusiast, Joey's life was forever changed in an automobile accident in August of 1985. He then became a pioneer in Traumatic Brain Injury research, with the assistance of the Minnesota Brain Injury Association. He was the first from Minnesota to receive personalized injury-appropriate care and rehabilitation in Middleborough, Massachusetts, followed by over a year of rehabilitation in Sheldon, Iowa. He gained some independence for a time, and spent his final years at the Dungarvin Home in Foley, Minnesota.
He will be deeply missed by those who survive him: sister, Christine (Tina) Neuschwander; brother, Thomas Cramer; nieces and nephews, Lindsay Nelson, Brandon Waller, Christine A. Neuschwander, Jake Neuschwander, Timothy (Amanda) Cramer, Michelle (Kaylon) Cramer, Jeffrey (Rachael Christianson) Cramer, Gregory Cramer; great-nieces and nephews, Logan Nelson, Riley Nelson, Jaida Scheer, Sylas Jon Colvin and Adalynn Cramer; several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Memorial service Thursday, October 27, at 11 AM, at BRADSHAW, 3131 Minnehaha Avenue South, Minneapolis.
