O'BRIEN Josephine L. (nee Tharp) Born January 27, 1928 Died March 11, 2013 Preceded in death by husband, John; parents, Cecil and Mabel Tharp; and brother, William (Annette) Tharp. Survived by children, Donald (Suzanne), Gerald (Sheila), Carol (Jim) Jaques and Sandra (Jim) Travers; grandchildren, Philip, David, Michael, Erin, Katherine, Jeremy, Ryan, Kelly and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Emily, Aidan, Will, Erica and Riley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Also survived by special friend, Cal. Born in International Falls, and raised her family on the Eastside of St. Paul. She was a St. Paul Public School Secretary for 20 years. Avid bowler, crafter, sewer, crocheter, baker, gardener and sports fan. Special thanks to the staff of Johanna Shores and Health Partners Hospice Team for their loving care. Memorial service Friday, 12:00 P.M. at PRESBYTERIAN HOMES JOHANNA SHORES FELLOWSHIP HALL, 3220 Lake Johanna Boulevard, Arden Hills with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. Private interment Union Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
