Age 77, of White Bear Lake
Died peacefully April 17, 2018 surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and June Fontaine. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 54 years, Elwood; sons, Robert (Laura) and Steve (Wendy); grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah, Eli and Audrey; brother, Larry (Debbie) Fontaine; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Judy was born on May 25, 1940 and graduated from Sibley High School in 1958. She worked briefly for St Paul Fire & Marine before marrying Elwood and having her boys. In 2001 she retired after working for the Mahtomedi School District as secretary to the principal and in the District Office. Judy's priorities were her family and her strong faith in God. She enjoyed bible study, book club, bird watching on the back deck, theater and singing without knowing the words. Judy loved to travel with Elwood. Together they visited 48 states, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe, and enjoyed many road trips with their senior group. She had a great fondness for Disney, having visited Disney World 18 times and Disneyland 7 times. As a proud grandmother, she looked forward to each visit from her grandkids and could be found cheering them on at every event. Judy had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful, joyful laugh; the sound of which will be missed and of which the memory will bring smiles. A celebration of Judy's life will be Thursday, April 26, 2018, 12:00 P.M. at ST. ANDREW'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi with a gathering of family and friends Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW, 4600 Greenhaven Drive at Highway 96 (one mile west of 35E), White Bear and also one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
