Judy A. Florine, age 74 of Roseville, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Clara Huebner; aunt, Marian Strasser; uncle, Bernard Strasser; cousins, Dennis Strasser and Debbie Kopecky. She is survived by her given family, cousins, Duane Strasser, Lisa Janzen, Michelle Janzen, Michael Strasser, Reed Kopecky; and an extended chosen family of many dear friends.
A lifelong learner and educator, Judy spent her career teaching in District 622 (North St. Paul, Maplewood and Oakdale), and representing her colleagues as a union representative and past president. Though a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis ended her career early, Judy continued to live her life with a sense of adventure that was bolstered by a streak of independence and a skill for problem-solving. She became a worldwide traveler, visiting five continents. She was an avid supporter of the arts, with season tickets to St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, the Minnesota Ballet and the Guthrie Theater. She was a skier, political activist, a reader, and a leader in her faith community. She connected with and found strength in her MS support group. Throughout her life, Judy enriched others by forging deep and lasting friendships, and she will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday, September 11, 2021 at PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2561 Victoria St N, Roseville, with visitation one hour prior. Seating is limited and masks will be required.
