Crever, Juleann C.
Juleann Carol Crever (née Torgersen), age 84, of Hugo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 24, 2023. She was born on January 6, 1939, in St Paul, the daughter of Stanley and Frances (Jensen) Torgersen. Julee graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1957. She married Thomas Henry Crever on May 13, 1961, at St. John the Baptist (of St. Genevieve) Church, Hugo, where they remained life-long members. Tom & Julee were 'crazy in love' married for 61 years.
Julee graduated from Hamline University School of Nursing in 1960 and started working as an RN at the original St. John's Hospital in St. Paul, eventually moving with them to their Maplewood location, spending most of her 40+ year career working in Surgery. She was a member of the MN Nurses Association. Julee was a long-time member of the North Oaks Children's Hospital Guild II volunteering many hours supporting their successful annual fundraiser sales. She also volunteered, alongside Tom, for the Hugo Lions Club Good Neighbor Days for many years.
Julee and Tom raised their family in their home they designed and built on Sunset Lake. After retirement they traveled and enjoyed many years wintering on the Texas coast. Julee had a life-long love of music and was an accomplished organist/pianist, putting those skills to use at Church, including pioneering a youth singing group in the 1970's. Julee hosted many holidays and celebrations for family/friends and enjoyed flaunting her Norwegian & Danish heritage! She loved playing bridge with her friends and nightly cribbage games with her husband. Julee truly cherished time with her family, particularly her nine grandchildren. We will miss her adventurous spirit, highly accomplished party planning skills, and her swooning love for Tom (and Elvis)!
Julee is survived by her children Cathy (Rock) Gjermo, Lori Crever, David Crever, and Michelle (Greg) Houle; grandchildren, Britta (Dan) Morrison, Hanna (Isaac) Chomitz, Natalie Gjermo, Niko Crever, Kennedy Crever, Jack Crever, Grant Houle, Carter Houle and Trey Houle; sister Marlene (Richard) Proulx, sibling-in-laws Mike (Judy) Crever, Connie Martin, Lee (Judy) Crever, Rita Daninger, Nancy (Robert) Rogers, and Gina (Bob) Schafer; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bette Bealka, and her beloved husband Tom last June.
