Julie Fick

d. October 23, 2021

Lake Elmo, MN

Fick, Julie, age 51, of Lake Elmo, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 23, 2021, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Julie was born Nov 13, 1969 with a zest for life, a tender spirit for Jesus, a compassionate and loving heart for people, a curious mind that loved to learn, a competitive determination to win, and a fun, bubbly, outgoing personality that everyone loved to be with. Julie graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a BS in Nursing and worked for several years in ICU and Recovery at Marshfield Clinic and Abbott Northwestern hospitals. While she kept her RN license current her entire life, she decided to stay home full-time after being a mom for a few years and poured all of her love and energy into her children and family. This included spending the last 13 years as a Homeschool Mom with the fruit of her labor being seen as the kids have gone forth on their own to successfully complete around 200 PSEO credits, 2 bachelor degrees and 1 master degree…so far.

She greatly enjoyed nature and going on hikes or being on a lake. Julie was always on the lookout for bald eagles or wildlife. Her favorite pastime was being with family, and especially attending sporting events or music performances as a superfan for her kids and nieces/nephews. She purposely made time for all of them and loved to encourage and exhort the unique God given gifts she saw in each child.

Julie exuded creativity and excellence in everything she did. She had an eye for design, colors, arrangements, and materials to beautifully remodel and decorate the homes she had inside and out. She was an amazing chef and baker who was constantly experimenting with new things she had seen or heard about. She used these gifts to routinely host large joyful family gatherings for birthdays and holidays.

Most importantly, Julie was a strong woman of faith in her Lord, Jesus. People who met Julie were drawn to the kindness and love of God they found in her. She openly shared of the many blessings she saw in her life and of the miracles she had personally experienced, including being healed and restored from septic shock in 1998. She believed to the end that God is good and that with faith in Jesus, ALL things are possible.

Julie will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 27 years, Wade; children, Caleb, Rachel, Josiah, and Malachi; parents, John and June Peck; siblings, John (Lynn) Peck, Joy (TJ) Amlee, James (Lisa) Peck, and Joel (Kate) Peck; many nieces; nephews; and other family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 4 from 4-7pm at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater.  Funeral Service will be Friday, November 5 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at Redeeming Love Church, 2425 White Bear Ave North, Maplewood.  Private Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery in St. Paul.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family asks that gifts be directed to a wonderful orphanage and ministry in Mexico that the Fick’s have supported for many years called Living Hope International. They can be found online at https://lovehopemercy.org/, or checks made out to Living Hope International can be given at the services.
