Karen Husebye, 91, preceded in death by beloved husband Kjeld. Survived by children David (Robyn), Steven (Nancy), and Elizabeth, plus six grandchildren and two great-grands.
Born in Oslo, Norway and trained as a nurse, Karen emigrated to America in 1955. She volunteered for the Red Cross in both Norway's First Aid Group, and in the US, screening preschoolers for the first Ear and Eye Alert. She tutored 1st and 2nd graders at Webster Elementary in St. Paul, and guided at the Landmark Center when it reopened in 1978.
Her greatest gift was her care and devotion to friends and family. Baker of Nordic cookies, Scrabble Master supreme, Siren of Sauna Soup, she also shared her love of classical music, opera, and reading, especially mysteries.
You will be sorely missed, Mom.
Karen's heartfelt appreciation goes out to staff and friends at Waverly Gardens for their support over many years, and extra thanks to Edna and family for tender, ongoing care, especially during her final months.

The memorial service is on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradshaw Funeral, White Bear. Visitation will be one hour before the service, with light refreshment immediately following.
