Karen lived in South Minneapolis, and was known in the community for her cooking, her laughter and kindness. She loved to ride her bike, and go swimming in the summer, in the winter she enjoyed snowy nights in bed with her beloved cats Marky and Scooter. Her favorite season was autumn because she loved the cool weather and the bright beautiful colors of the trees. Karen loved cribbage, and yahtzee, and was known for playing into the late hours of the night with her friends. She could usually be found reading, or doing a crossword puzzle while enjoying a ‘stifferino’. - If you’re ever at the Eagle’s Club, or The Joint just ask for a “Karen”!
Karen participated annually in the Polar Plunge, and had collectively raised thousands of dollars for charity. She taught Sunday school at St. Albert the Great Chatholic Church and was a devoted follower of Jesus until the end of her life.
Karen was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of many. Her memory will be carried on by dragonflies and sunflowers. Her voice heard in thunderstorms, and the roaring sound of Minnehaha Falls like barreling laughter. Her spirit will live on in the lives of her children who love and miss her very much.
