Karin Faugust

Faugust, Karin E. (86) of St Paul, passed away Jan 17, 2024. Preceded in death by parents; Claude and Eunice (Jensen) Faugust, stepmother, Betty (Ficken) Faugust, sister; Debra, uncles and aunts; Charlie and Pearl (Macinich) Faugust, Charles and Helen (Faugust) Ward, Cousins; Bud and Loren Ward, friends; Jeanne Bjorkman and Carol Olson. Survived by cousins; JoD, Steve, Kim, Lisa, Hannah & Brian Ward, Christy, Jim & Jeff Ficken & family, Friends; Norma Jean, Velda and Fran. 

She was born in Mankato MN, Nov 18, 1937, and grew up on a farm near East Chain, Minnesota where she graduated from high school. Karin moved to St Paul, where she attended St Paul Bible College (now Crown College), and then studied at Mounds Midway School of Nursing, earning a BSN. It was a decades long enjoyable career that lasted until retiring from Presbyterian Homes. Her entire adult life was dedicated as a volunteer at inner city missions such as the Union Gospel Mission, the Marie Sandvik Center, in Minneapolis. Her heart was here in these places. Donations in her honor would be greatly appreciated.

She loved traveling, to East Asia, and all-over North America, including Canada, Mexico and most of the US states, and now she has taken her ”Biggest Trip”, as she wrote in her notes for her own obituary, “to heaven.” She found great enjoyment in playing piano at Church, Union Gospel Mission and Episcopal Homes Events. She was also a member of the Central Baptist Church Choir. She loved jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, and needlework. Karin was selfless and giving, dedicated to family and friends, and really enjoyed interacting with people. She lived a positive, cheerful, Christ-centered life. 

Memorial service 10:30 am Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Central Baptist Church, 420 N Roy St, St Paul. Visitation begins at 10:00am.
