Lano, Karl
Born on September 8, 1911 in Mayen, Germany, the youngest of the 5 children of Margaret Daheim & Karl Lano. Died on June 13, 2005 at his daughters home in the presence & care of his son & daughter. Preceded in death by wife of 67 years, Rose. Survived by son, Karl J. (Cathie) of Salt Lake City; daughter, Diana Barsness of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Daniel (Ava) Barsness and Sarah (Gary) Prentice; great-grandchildren, Jenna & Megan Rose Barsness; nieces, nephews and special friends, Robbie, Linda & Christina Highman. Karl immigrated to MN with his widowed mother in 1921. He preformed in the juvenile vaudeville troup in Finkelstein & Ruben in the mid 1920's. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1930. Most of his work like was in sales and management. Karl owned & operated a small janitorial supplies business for 25 years. He was a soloist & former choir director at St. Helena's Catholic Church. Karl was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather & friend who taught us to be content with what we have and the value of a job well done. He will be remembered for his joyful heart, his beautiful voice & his ever ready laughter. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10AM at CHURCH OF ST. HELENA, 3201 E. 43rd St. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church.
