Kathleen Mary Fluegel

Kathleen Mary Fluegel (nee Storkamp), 84, of Prior Lake, MN died on April 23rd 2023 at home after a two-year journey with cancer.

Kathleen was the oldest of eight siblings and grew up on a working farm south of Rosemount. After graduating from Rosemount High School, she received her Nursing degree.  She and her husband, Don Fluegel, lived in Washington, DC where she worked as a nurse while he attended law school. They later settled in Hastings, MN where they raised their five children.

In 1999 she met her beloved Lynda Griebenow whom she was with and married for 23 years.

Kathleen was smart, vivacious, funny, beautiful, caring, loving, perceptive, and irreverent. She truly saw people - their joys, wonders, and choices that made them special -  a gift not everyone can give. She created a space in which people felt safe. She was able to walk alongside them as they navigated their current spaces as well as their hopes for the future.

She is survived by her wife Lynda Griebenow; her children and their spouses, Steve and Sue Fluegel, Joan Fluegel, Suzanne Fluegel, Dan and Lynn Fluegel, and Ann and Tim Conway; as well as grandchildren Jack and Hannah Lassen, Madeline and John Ursino, Lucas and Bailey Fluegel, and Max and Oscar Conway.

She is also survived by siblings Jean Heinen and her husband Dick, Janet Oster, Cecelia Fowler, Jack Storkamp and his wife Meg, Deb Glomski and her husband Gary, and Barb King and her husband Vin, and many adored nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Norbert and Marie Storkamp, brother Jim Storkamp, and brothers-in-law Jim Oster and Steve Fowler.

A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater with visitation one hour prior to the service.
