Kathleen Therese (Carr) Jensen
3/23/1961-4/7/2022
On April 7th, 2022, Kathy (Carr) Jensen passed peacefully into eternity with her husband Jim by her side at the Pillars Hospice Center in Oakdale, Mn.
Kathleen Therese Carr was born in Saint Cloud, Mn on March 23rd, 1961 to John Carr and Marilyn Rogers. Kathy attended elementary, middle and high school in River Falls and proceeded to secure her degree in Education from UW River Falls.
Kathy’s years in River Falls were filled with helping to care for her siblings as she was affectionately referred to as ‘Sister-Mom’, playing tennis or softball and also enjoyed playing flute. Her devotion to Christ at a young age shaped who she was, how she treated others and ultimately her decision to become a teacher.
Upon graduating from college, Kathy moved to Marshfield Wisconsin to teach at the newly formed Marshfield Christian School where she taught multiple grades, was the principal for 1 year, impacted the lives of students and teachers and eventually met her husband, Jim.
Jim and Kathy met in February of 1985 and were engaged on their third date followed by a wedding 4 ½ months later in August. They had a beautiful life together of almost 37 years and were blessed to have been given the honor of parenting their 4 children. Kathy was an intensely loving and kind soul who delighted in looking after the needs of others whether that was family, friends, Jim’s co-workers or their neighbors.
Jim and Kathy moved to Lake Elmo, Mn in September of 2017 to be nearer to family and closer to a major airport as Jim traveled for business.
Kathy is survived by parents, John Carr and Marilyn Rogers, Debbie and Joe Bjerstedt, Anne and Dennis Finstad, Colleen and Brian Leyk, John and Wendy Carr, Marty Carr, Sheila and John Harder and Chris and Christine Carr as well as many nieces and nephews and a growing number of great nieces and nephews.
Kathy is greatly missed by those she loved fiercely and devoted her life to; surviving husband Jim and their children, Brandon and Liz Jensen of Sauk Rapids Mn, Bri and Tait Teigen of Somerset Wi , Cody and Ashley Jensen of West Salem Wi and Tali Jensen of Lake Elmo Mn.
She also has an eternal thumbprint on the lives of her grandchildren which she greatly adored; Esther, Liam, Theo and Lucy Jensen…Everett, Clayton and Erling Teigen…Elijah and coming soon Noa Jensen as well as those yet to arrive.
Kathy’s life will be celebrated April 30th at 3pm at Rockpoint Church, 5825 Kelvin Ave N in Lake Elmo, Mn 55042. All are welcome to join the service but due to limited availability of seating and the size of the family, those invited to the meal following will be sent an invitation.
