Kathleen Pfarr Macy
Memorial Service for Kathleen P. Macy will be held Friday, 5:00 P.M. followed by a Celebration of Kathleen's Life from 6:30-9:30 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater.
Born a California Girl in Alhambra in 1948, she was the quintessential California girl without the blond hair and blue eyes, but her love for the surf and sand stayed with her until her sudden departure on Saturday May 16, 2009. Perhaps being the oldest of 6 children led her to be the educator and the lighthouse that showed us the path throughout our lives and always provided the beacon back home. She navigated all forms of education from text book editor, teacher to a superintendent of Stillwater School District. On her retirement, she expanded her horizon and became an advocate for children's education through educational leadership development.
Our ships are navigating the waters with the loss of our beacon, our Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Co-Worker and Friend. Kathleen is survived by her husband of 38 years, Thomas; her children, Patrick (Ann) Macy; Minneapolis, Katherine (Dan) Schwarz; Stillwater, Michelle Macy; Portland, OR. Grandchildren: Alex, Jacob and Matthew Schwarz, Sophie and Sam Macy. Siblings: Patricia (Tim) Brown, Linda (Steve) Bach, Tom (Lisa) Pfarr, Mary (Brian) Paul, Beloved Aunt JoAnn Farmer, Pismo Beach, CA and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Evelyn Pfarr, and sister Diane Pfarr. She will be missed by all those she touched.
