Olson, Kathleen Marie (Botsford)
Born in Marshall, Minnesota on December 16, 1949 to Clifford & Florence Botsford of Marshall. Kathleen enjoyed artwork. Many homes are decorated with her fine paintings, weavings and pottery. She also enjoyed travel, being fond of all people and God's creation.
She is survived by her husband, Rick; children, Michael and Theresa; sister, Charlene Weibel; and brothers, Tim, Kent, Pat and Brad Botsford.
She attended Southwest State Univ. in Marshall, graduating in 1974 with a BA in Fine Arts. She later moved to Minneapolis and worked at Soul's Harbor Christian School out of her love for children and service to God. As the years passed she had other jobs as well. In 1985 she was married to Rick Olson and had two children, Michael and Theresa.
Besides attending to her family and keeping up the home, she was a volunteer at the Wildlife Rehab Center at the Univ. of Minnesota, out of her love for animals. She was also an office worker at her children's Christian school and served as hospitality chair for the Minnesota Rock & Mineral Club. Thru many money-saving practices, such as coupon clipping and sales catching, she greatly raised the family's lifestyle. She also involved herself in the Beanie Baby craze of the '90s, making profits sufficient to purchase a piano and help fund vacations. However, in the midst of her pursuit to reenter the job market, since her children were then older, her vitality began to fail, due to the onset of ALS; the disease that eventually took her life. She will be fondly remembered by all as a vibrant wife, mother, sister and friend. As the family continues on she will be with us in spirit, in both regular days and in the major events of our lives, the things she very much wished to be a part of. God called her home peacefully on January 30, 3008. Service Monday 11AM at BRADSHAW (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave. So. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 3-6PM.
