Kathrine Toft Nielsen

Kathrine Toft Nielsen was born March 23, 1939 in Ramsey, Minnesota to Peder Toft and Lucretia Hennager. She died on February 18, 2025. 

Kathie completed high school in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, graduated from both Dana and Waldorf Colleges, and in 1977 completed a Master's Degree in special education from St. Cloud State University. 

She married Ron Nielsen on June 3, 1963 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage to the love of her life. Kathie loved her family - including children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, and her many friends. 

For the majority of her career she taught struggling high school students and valued her the work. Upon retirement she taught literacy to adults for several years. 

Memorial service will be Monday, April 28, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Kathie's ashes will be placed at the Columbarium at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. 

Kathie asked that memorials be given to Lutheran World Relief or the White Bear Lake Food Shelf.
