Kay passed away on April 2, 2019, at Masonic Home in Bloomington and formerly lived in Richfield for 61 years. She was born April 13, 1923, in Hazleton, IA. After completing her Associate degree at Mt. Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, IA, she moved to Minneapolis. She is now welcomed into the Communion of Saints by her husband, Paul; parents, Marie Honora (Worley) and Leo Charles Hoffman; brother, Leo A. Hoffman (Esther); and her baby sister, Jean. Survived by her children, Anne, Brian (Cathy) and Susan Saevig; grandchildren, Karen Johnson (Mike), Kristin Dick and Katie Chase (David), Steve Saevig (Elizabeth), Dave Saevig (Jessica) and Mike Saevig (Sara - fiance); great-grandchildren, Alana and Damian Johnson, Vivianne Dick and Aurora and Aunalise Chase, Kiera Saevig and Alexandra Saevig. Kay enjoyed wearing bright colors. If you like, you are invited to do the same at her funeral. She loved elephants and had quite a collection of elephant artwork and jewelry. She was an enthusiastic reader of the newspaper and books. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, at 27 E. Main Street, Hohenwald, TN 38462 (www.elephants.com) or to the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, 516 N. Adams St, Tallahassee, FL 32301 (www.barbara.org) or the donor's choice. Mass of Christian Burial, 11AM, Thursday, April 11, 2019 at THE CHURCH OF ST EDWARD, 9401 Nesbitt Ave., S. Bloomington, MN with a Visitation beginning one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
