Kenneth Earl Breeden, 91, passed away at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis October 3, 2016. Preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Finke) Breeden; his parents, Earl and Ruth; and his brothers, Harold and Carl. Survived by his children: Kerry Joseph (Sharon), Nancy Jane Van Cleve (Gary), Marianne Mullikin (Robert), David Scott, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Born in Harrison County, Indiana, Kenneth graduated from Clifford High School in 1942. Kenneth served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Together with his wife, Kenneth farmed and later established a number of small businesses in Columbus, Indiana. He was a lover of lawn-care, card games and a good deal. He was always ready with a joke.
He left Indiana in the early 1980s, but he left his heart behind. His children remember him happiest spending time on the farm established by his ancestors near Corydon, Indiana. He will return home to rest next to his parents and brothers in Cedar Hill Cemetery, where an internment ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 2 p.m. A service was also held at the Minnesota Veterans Home on Wednesday, October 5.
