Kenneth Olson

Kenneth "Ken" Olson, age 62, passed away on April 11, 2024, in Roseville, MN. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Philip Olson. He is survived by his wife, Mieko, daughter, Kassy Points (Brandon), granddaughter, Caydance, mother, Cindy Meek, siblings Sheryl Benjamin (Rick) and Andy Peterson (Barb), mother-in-law, Carole Hirakawa, sister-in-law, Maia Starling, several nieces and nephews, and scores of friends.

Ken was a pioneering engineer, whose work on the first commercially available AED helped launch a revolution in access to life-saving technology in the public sphere. But he will mostly be remembered as an incredibly sharp fellow who had a variety of interests/pastimes, who could be depended on to pitch in when we needed help, and whose dry humor made us laugh when we needed that most.

A celebration of Ken's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Healing Hearts Rescue.
