Passed away peacefully May 10, 2014 at the age of 84. Preceded in death by wife, Ileana; brothers, Donald and Lester Schwalen. Loving father of Karen A. Kuehn (Mark McCormick), and Karl R. Schwalen; loving grandfather of Leslie Martin (Chad) and Sarah Lloyd (Peter); also survived by 4 great-grandchildren and loving companion, Darlyne Peters. Ken served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Legion, VFW and the Elks. He retired in 1992 from Minco Products in Fridley after 35 years of employment. A celebration of life gathering will be Monday, May 19, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at VFW/Elks Club, 5880 Omaha Avenue, Stillwater. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
