Kristan Rectenwal

Kristan Diane Rectenwal nee Frye, 52, of Elko MN passed away Monday December 20th surrounded by her family.  Kristan, “Cricket” is survived by her children Grace and Alexandra Rectenwal, Mother Diane Frye and brother Bryan (Rachel) Frye.  She was preceded in death by her Dad, Gregory Bryan Frye.

Kristan fought a year-long battle with colon cancer and remained positive and full of love throughout.  Kristan loved being a Mom to her two daughters and to the menagerie of animals they kept.  She had the greenest of thumbs and was happiest working in the garden planting new life, encouraging those all-ready growing and talking with friends and family about plants.  Flowers brought her pure joy.

Kristan competed as a novice Hunter-Jumper equestrian rider throughout junior-high and high school.  She won many ribbons and loved working with her horse, Ole.  She was also an avid hiker and backpacker exploring the Superior Hiking Trail and some of the mountains in Colorado.

Kristan had a strong faith in God, teaching Sunday School at Evergreen Church in Lakeville.
