Kristine Goodwin

Kristine Kay Goodwin was born June 1, 1951. She passed away May 9, 2018 from ovarian cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Nadine Anderson, infant sister Deborah Lee Anderson, mothers- and fathers-in law Elma (Vosika) Goodwin and James N. Goodwin, and stepfather Donald Daniell.
Kristine is survived by loving husband Dr. Courtney J. Goodwin; son, Curtis J. Goodwin, daughter, Kirsten L. Goodwin; and stepdaughter, Corley P. (Jesse Hall) Goodwin; sister, Cynthia S. (Ronald) Cole; nieces Julie (Lars) Madsen, Megan Cole; nephew Brett Cole; sister-in-law Carma (Gerald) Lindeman; nephews and nieces, Brad, Todd, Lori, Traci.
Kristine was born and raised in the rural Iowa community of Rippey and enjoyed participating in small town activities including church, sports, and music. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education, and taught 2nd grade in Iowa Falls, IA. After marrying and moving to the Twin Cities, she taught preschool at Kinderland Preschool in North Oaks, MN. She had resided in the Shoreview, MN and White Bear Township, MN communities for the past 38 years.
She had many interests, including extensive reading and book clubs, music, art, water aerobics, playing pickleball, watching basketball, and enjoyed spending her winters in Surprise, AZ.
Her main joy in life was being with family, friends, and her puppy Elsie, and she was active in many groups devoted to helping others.
Kris wanted to be remembered as a quiet presence in life that loved to help others. Thank you to all of her wonderful friends and especially to her hospice caregivers and her cancer support group members.
Funeral service will be 11AM Tuesday, May 15 at WHITE BEAR LAKE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1851 Birch St, White Bear Lake, with visitation one hour prior. Luncheon will be served following the service.
Memorials to the White Bear Lake United Methodist Church and the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
