Passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on November 5, 2014. Leona's strong faith and close family were the foundation of her long, full life. Leona married the love of her life, Marlin Rygh, in 1952. Together they raised three children. Leona also worked side-by-side with Marlin on real estate, and as a teacher and librarian. She and Marlin also enjoyed retirement, traveled extensively and lived many places in Minnesota and Arizona. Leona is preceded in death by her loving husband, Marlin; grandson, Tommy Shult; parents John and Hannah Schlomer; and many siblings. Leona will be greatly missed by her children, Ona Rygh, Mike (Jan) Rygh, Carol (Tom) Lawless; grandchildren, Mik (Andrea) Rygh, Jeremiah Rygh, Rebecca (Eric Grovender) Shult, Molly Shult, Maria Rygh, Haley Lawless, Jack Lawless, Jacob Rygh, Mark Rygh; 5 great-grandsons; and siblings Victor Schlomer and Lorraine Fowler. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 1:00PM with a visitation beginning at 11:00AM at SALEM LUTHERAN CHURCH, 14940 62nd St N, Stillwater. Interment at Sunset Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials will be donated to Lutheran Island Camp.
