Stang
LeRoy "Doc"
Passed away peacefully on October 13 at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of his family.
He spent time in Service in Japan during World War II. A St. Cloud State graduate, he taught business and coached in Sauk Rapids for 2 years, where his B Squad basketball team won 49 games in a row. He taught at Forest Lake High School and coached varsity baseball for 11 years, taking his team to the Section finals on 2 different occasions, and compiling a 107-53 record.
He left education and entered the insurance business with Horace Mann for 12 years, advancing to regional manager. Doc retired in 1987 and spent his part time hours as a starter/ranger at Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater. He had a joke to tell any person for any occasion, even if you didn't request one. He was the most terrific and loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather anyone could hope for. We treasure the gift of his life, wisdom, encouragement and love for those of us around him. Preceded in death by son David.
Survived by the love of his life of 65 years, Genevieve; sons, Mark (Wanda), Paul (Sue), and Greg (Frances); grandchildren, Jon, Ben, Tiffany, Cassie, Matt, Samantha, and Andrea; and great-granddaughter, Livia.
