Leroy A. "Chub" Wilke

Age 81, of Vadnais Heights, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2024. 

Preceded in death by brother, Lloyd; sisters, Elaine Meissner and Lorraine Wasiluk. He will be sadly missed by wife, Marion; children, Jim, Deb (Kevin) Valley, and Mike; grandchildren, Dani (Alex), Nikki (Taelor) and Brett (Erica); brother, Allan “Jocko”; sister, Joann (Bob) Krasky; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 

Chub loved his family and friends, taking care of his lawn, spending time with family in Webster, WI, and satisfying his sweet tooth. His eyes would light up from a simple Snickers bar. Oh, boy the excitement when unwrapping a gift. Through the years, he spent many hockey seasons watching, coaching or flooding ice rinks for the kids as they grew. He enjoyed being surrounded by many of his favorite people whether deer hunting, on fishing trips, golfing, or stopping at Beartown following golf league on Wednesdays. He was thrilled when people would stop by the house to visit.

Chub and Marion loved traveling together on many trips and cruises. Upon retirement, Chub enjoyed morning coffee and breakfast dates with his fire department and 3M buddies. He was always found listening to old time country music. 

Chub worked for 3M for 35 years. He started off as an apprentice, became a Machinist, and later a Plant Supervisor. He was a longtime volunteer for the Vadnais Heights Fire Department and for the Lions Club. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Such a big smile and the best kept hair.

 His absence will be felt by many. He will be deeply missed by all who survive him. 

A celebration of Chub’s life will be Thursday, August 8, 12:00 P.M. at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear with visitation two hours prior to the service.
