His unwavering faith led him to be a 99-year member of the St.Lucas Community Church in Lake Elmo and a dedicated member of the American Legion (Post 491) for 77 years, showcasing his commitment to his community and country. He was proud of the fact that he always held down at least two jobs at a time.
Les found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly helping at "the farm". Since Les's wife Marilyn died in 2020 he lived independently at Croixdale in Bayport. He cooked, baked, cleaned, shopped, did laundry and drove up to a week before his passing.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorials to Lakeview Hospice or St. Lucas Church as a fitting tribute to Leslie's memory and the compassionate care he received. The nurses at Lakeview Hospice, especially Wendy and Melinda, held a special place in Les's heart, and their kindness and dedication will not be forgotten.
Leslie's journey through life touched many hearts, leaving a legacy of love, hard work, and community spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his memory be a source of comfort and strength, reminding us of the enduring impact of a long life well-lived.
