Lillian J. May, age 93, of Arden Hills, went home to be with Jesus her Savior on October 19, 2021. Graduate of University of Northwestern, 1949. Graduate of Mounds-Midway School of Nursing, 1952. She was born on June 7, 1928 on a farm near Lindsey Lake in Backus, MN to Wiley and Margaret Bloom. She married Vernon G. May on June 28, 1952 and for many years they owned a photo studio in Roseville, MN. God blessed their marriage with two wonderful daughters -Rochelle (Bob) Rust of Tulsa, OK and Mary (Chris) Futrell of Clinton, NC, 8 dear grandchildren, and many adorable great-grandchildren. She was very much involved with her Christian family at Ambassador Baptist Church in Shoreview. Lil often volunteered at Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills, where she lived for her last 6 years after suffering a stroke. She loved to travel and was able over her lifetime to visit all 50 states, as well as Canada, Mexico, and her dear missionary friends in Bolivia, Tom and Evelyn Johnson. Lillian will be greatly missed by all.
Preceded in death by her father Wiley Bloom, mother Margaret Falk Bloom, sister Mildred (Tom) Holden, grandchild Heather Rust, husband Vernon May, brother Elmer Bloom, and great grandchild Jessco Rust.
Survived by children Rochelle (Bob) Rust, and Mary (Chris) Futrell; grandchildren Gabrielle Alexander, Robert (Erica) Rust, Matthew Rust, Danielle Rust, Heather (Justin) Rose; Alyssa (Pete) Peterson, and Taylor (Morgan) Futrell; great-grandchildren, Jaida Alexander, Jazmin Alexander, William Rust, Chloe Rust, Jenna-Grace Rose, Anna-Kate Rose, Emma-Claire Rose, Porter Rose, Tristan Peterson, Causton Peterson, Lily Peterson, Hadley Peterson, Rowan Peterson, and Hallie Futrell; nieces and nephews Pam (Larry) Palmer, Greg (Terri) May, Judie Prayfrock, Sheila (Chuck) Stokes, Bev Dwelly, Jim Koerner, Len Louden, and Ann (Doug) Zellmer; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank special friends and caregivers, Paul and Diane Ness. They would also like to express their appreciation to the staff of Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills for their loving and kind care.
Visitation at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 28, with Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION of LIFE CENTER, 4600 Greenhaven Dr., White Bear Lake, MN. Memorial Service will be livestreamed from Bradshaw website. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ambassador Baptist Church, 3720 Lexington Ave N, Shoreview, MN 55126
