Beloved cousin, neighbor, and friend
Lita passed away peacefully on September 21st after a brief illness at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by parents, Elwin and Amanda Drillen, husband of 25 years Merlin Morey and lifelong best friend, Lucille (Russo) Schubert. She is survived by her devoted cousin, Helen Ferguson of Ontario, Canada. She will be missed by her neighbors Lois and Dave Picard who watched over her, and many friends especially Joyce Brumond. Lita was adored and will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was actively serving as secretary on the Board of Directors of the Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul at the time of her death. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1730 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul. Lita's ashes will be buried next to her mother at Union Cemetery in Maplewood following the celebration of her life. Memorials preferred to Grace Lutheran Church and the Union Gospel Mission. A special thank you goes to Lita's team of angels; Pastor Chris, Lois, Dave, Joyce, Marlys and Jayne who loved and cared for her.
