Nelson, Lloyd A.

Age 89, of Eagan. Born April 29, 1919 in Wales, ND, died July 19 at Keystone of Eagan surrounded by his family.

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Teresa; sons and daughter-in-law, Lanny (Lloyd) and Terry of Forest Lake, Steven and Kathy of Burnsville, Jeff and Julie of Stillwater; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Elmer of Rochester, Winifred "Winnie/Dolly" Pederson of Seattle, Gordon and Rita of Fargo, Donald of Owatonna. Preceded in death by siblings, Victor, Roy and Gloreen.

Served in WWII and Korean Conflict, retired Army Major. Earned B.S. from U of MN. Retired 1982 MN DOT District 6 (Mankato) with 43 years of service. Starting as Soil Testing Technician, he rose to Assistant District Engineer, Rochester, MN and Head Engineer of Mankato District. He was instrumental in the development and construction of the Minnesota highway system.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, 10:00 A.M. at the CHURCH OF ST. THOMAS BECKET, 4455 South Robert Trail, Eagan. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation ONLY Tuesday (TODAY), 5:00-8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW, 678 South Snelling at Eleanor, Saint Paul.
