Age 87, of Stillwater, MN, passed away peacefully December 6, 2012 at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN surrounded by family. Lois Irene Brekke was born April 24, 1925 to Oscar and Alma Brekke in Kenyon, MN. She graduated from Kenyon High School in 1943, then moved to Richmond, CA in 1944 to work in the shipyards during the war effort. Lois married Martin Craig Bowers on May 15, 1944 in Richmond. They lived in California for several years then moved back to MN, residing in Rochester. Martin and Lois moved back to California in 1973, residing there until Martin's death in 1976. Lois moved to Stillwater, MN where she spent her remaining years.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; her parents; brothers, Aldi and Steven; and sister, Dorothy. She is survived by her sons, Michael of Somerset, WI, Marvin of Maplewood, MN and Mark of Stillwater, MN; five grandchildren, Michael Craig, Matthew, David, Tara, and Martin; and ten great-grandchildren. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
