Age 85, of Stillwater
Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Jan. 31, 2018. She is survived by loving sons Jay (Marna) Grafenstein, Kyle (Rose) Grafenstein and step-son Brian (Susan) Muckenthaler; grandchildren, Alia, Kya, Samuel, Jacob, Hannah, and Carly Grafenstein, and Matt, Jeff, and Michael Muckenthaler. She is preceded in death by husbands Donald Grafenstein and Cyril Muckenthaler; parents William and Maude; sisters Ruby, Ione and Pearl; and brothers Bud and Harvey. Dollye was loved by many nieces and nephews and many friends. Dollye was born on October 6, 1932 in Stillwater Bay, Minnesota to Bill & Maude (Hill) Moelter. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1950. Dollye attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and UW-River Falls, where she studied education. She began her career as a school teacher in Stillwater in the 1950s and taught Kindergarten in the North St. Paul/Maplewood School District for 30 years before retiring in 1992. Teaching and working with children was one of Dollye's joys in life. Many of her other passions she shared with her husband Don, whom she married in England in 1953. They loved boating on the St. Croix River with friends, hosting dinner parties, and spending time with their sons and families. Don and Dollye shared many wonderful years together until his death in 1991. Dollye so fortunately found her second partner in life while traveling and was united in marriage to Cyril "Cib" in 1997. Cib and Dollye enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Dollye was always up for a laugh and filled the lives of everyone she met with so much joy. A memorial gathering to celebrate Dollye's life will be Monday, March 5 at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater from 4-7 PM with a time of sharing at 6:30 PM.
