Louis John Miller, 96, was born on June 1, 1912, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Louis and Catherine (Gressman) Miller, Sr. He attended St. Bernard's Catholic School in St. Paul, MN through the eigth grade. Louis worked with his dad in a foundry and also worked part-time in a grocery store. Louis married Theresa Portner in October of 1946 in Worth County, IA. He lived in St. Paul all his life and worked for Connelly Trucking in the Twin Cities until his retirement in 1957. After his wife passed away in 2004, he moved to Brewster, MN. Louis enjoyed playing softball and continued to play into his 90's. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Louis died on Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, MN.
Louis is survived by six grandchildren, Doreen (Pat) Haberman of Brewster, MN, Dean (Patty) Lascewski of Aurora, CO, Jane (Jeff) Buysman of Worthington, MN, Jean Lascewski of Round Lake, MN, Vicky (Dan) Kuehne of Reading, MN, and Curt Ojanpera of Inver Grove Heights, MN; eight great grandchildren, and two nieces, Joyce Sullivan of St. Paul, MN, and Marge Poor of Mpls., MN. He was preceded in death by his wife and two daughters, Bernadette Lascewski in 1992 and Diane Ojanpera in 2004.
