Goodman, Lowell Robert
Of St. Paul, MN left this life surrounded by family on September 25, 2018 at age 82. He was born on August 2, 1936 in Kenmare, ND, the son of Dr. Robert and Alice Hendrickson Goodman of Powers, ND. He graduated from Powers Lake High School, the University of North Dakota earning both a BS and Masters Degree and also he received a PhD from the University of Illinois. He enlisted in the Army in 1959 and was given an Honorable Discharge in 1965.
He married Anna Corinne Eidem October 21, 1961 in Stanley ND and they raised 3 sons and 1 daughter. He was a Professor of Geography and Economic Development at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and at UND in Grand Forks. He was a Master Senior Appraiser and an Economic Consultant providing market studies for businesses throughout the country. He also co-authored a number of Geography Textbooks that were used in North Dakota schools. Lowell loved spending time with his family, flying, and traveling throughout the US and overseas.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne; sons, Robert and Petra Goodman, Warren Goodman, Mark and Hunter Goodman, and daughter, Erika and Jason Jund; grandchildren, Ryan McDonald, Brenna Goodman and Jeanette Rivera, Michael Goodman, Lowell Goodman and Patrick Goodman; brother, Marshall and Sharon Goodman and brother-in-law, Jerry Eidem and Jackie Burleson; plus many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, MN at 2:00 p.m. Oct. 6, 2018 with visitation at 12:30 p.m. before the service.
The family suggests that any memorials be sent to the U of Wisconsin Transplant Fund at 600 Highland Ave., Madison, WI 53792.
