Luther Wilson Neil Jones, Jr.

Luther Wilson Neil Jones, Jr (aka Tuffy), age 67, was born on June 7, 1957 in Saint Paul, MN to parents Luther W.N. Jones, Sr. and Crola A. Jones. Luther was raised in the Rondo Community, where he attended Maxfield and Drew Elementary Schools. He was also part of the East Side Community of McDonough Homes, where he was well known with many friends, and attended Johnson High School.

Luther attended St. Paul Technical Vocational Institute where he earned a degree in Respiratory Therapy. During his 30+ year career as a Certified Respiratory Therapist, he worked at Fairview Riverside, North Memorial, Bethesda and St. John's hospitals.

Tuffy loved sports, especially football. He was a devoted Vikings fan. He also coached youth football, where he coached several family members including both his son Luther, III and daughter Teia. He also enjoyed softball and played for the Sport Pac team in the 1970's.

Luther loved Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Truth Christian community. As the eldest sibling in the family, he was trusted for his wise counsel to family members across generations. He adopted his great-granddaughter, a testament to his deep love for family.

Luther went home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Crola A. Jones and brother, William G. Jones. Tuffy is survived by wife, Dawn Jones; great granddaughter-daughter, Justelle Jones-McDonough; father, Luther W.N. Jones, Sr.; children, Luther W.N. Jones, III (Joy) and Teia M. Jones, and their mother, Elizabeth Dailey, Timothy Page, Demetrius Young (Casey), Marcus Young, Maurice Young; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren that were his pride and joy; sister, Dr. Stacie Stanley (David); brother, Gerald Jones (Marissa); and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Memorial service Friday, 12:00 P.M. at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M.
