Marjorie Lou Johnson

Age 90, of Stillwater, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 5, 2019.  Preceded in death by husband, William; and son-in-law, Randy Gibson.  Survived by children, James (Jill Oddan) and Linda Gibson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bobby) Tuccitto, Brett (Christina) Gibson and Shannon (Dan) Jarvis; great-grandchildren, Ty, Ceci, Bella, Luca, Cason and Lyla; sister, Marion Martin; longtime companion, George Siegfried; other family and friends.

Marge “Midge” was a lifelong resident of Stillwater, MN with her ancestors settling here in the Stillwater area 150 years ago (1869) upon their arrival from Sweden.  She spent her life dedicated to her children Jim & Linda, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, volunteering and working intermittently for family & friends’ businesses.  Alongside her husband Bill, they traveled the country on long road trips often visiting her sister Marion “Mimi” in whatever location she was living in with her family. She loved the St Croix River, boating all of her life and living on the river in Marine on the St Croix for many years after their children were grown. Marge was blessed with a large number of friends, many of which she had known most of her life. In retirement they spent winters in Florida with many of those friends. She thrived on entertaining people and was always ready at a moment’s notice to put on a party for any occasion. Her quick-witted sarcasm, unapologetic opinions, smile and most of all her love will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be Monday, November 11, 2019, 4:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 3:00 P.M.  Private interment Fairview Cemetery.
