Survived by Husband, Robert (Bob) Harms; Daughter, Karla Larkins (Harms); Daughter, Sara (Paul) Aplikowski (Harms); Son, Daniel (Anna) Harms; Beloved Granddaughters, Amelia, Madeline and Eleri Aplikowski, Eva Larkins, Briella, Sofianna, and Annamaria Harms; Brother, Frank Schroeder, Utah; Sister, Rosella Duskin (Schroeder), Oregon; Nephews, Brian (Maria) Schroeder, Brad (Tracy) Schroeder, Greg (Carol) Duskin, Rick (Omega) Schroeder; Niece, Vicki (Scott) Smith (Schroeder). And many more nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by Father, Joseph Schroeder; Mother, Eva Schroeder (Reisinger); Step Mother, Helen Wax Schroeder (Scharosch); Brother, Joseph Schroeder; Sister-in-law, Doris Schroeder (Weber); Friend, Mary Suwan.

The Lord has called home Marlene (Marty) on January 9, 2021.

Marty was born in Richardton, North Dakota on May 25, 1943 and attended high school in Dickinson, ND. Her senior year she moved to the Twin Cities with her father, graduating from Central High School, St. Paul, MN in 1961. She worked at Great Northern Railroad and Greif Brothers Cooperage. In 1966, she married Bob at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Paul. During Bob’s 39 year career at 3M they moved between 3 countries and 4 states.

Marty lived her whole life grounded in her devout faith. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Brighton, MN for 39 years. She had a generous and compassionate spirit. She was forever kind, always elevating the concerns of others above her own. Everywhere she lived, she volunteered her time and effort to help the elderly and disadvantaged. She adored babies and had a gift for knowing just what they needed.

Marty was an avid bird watcher and reader, always busy with various crafts and projects. She loved movies and music of all kinds. She will be fondly remembered for making and shipping 50 pounds of her extraordinary fudge at Christmastime to friends and family across the country. She was blessed with meaningful lifelong friendships that she cherished.

Marty was dearly loved by many friends and family and will be sorely missed.

Private ceremony for immediate family. Interment at St. John's Cemetery. Public service to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Brighton, MN or charity of your choice.
