Marlene Roettger

Marlene (McLaughlin) Roettger, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Stillwater, MN, on November 28, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Marlene was born May 22, 1933, in Stillwater, MN, where she was raised by William and Avis McLaughlin. Marlene remained in Stillwater where she met her late husband of nearly 70 years, Vern “Pete” Roettger. She is survived by her children, Roxanne (Ron), Greg (Peggy), Jodi, and Kim (Terry); 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Family was of utmost importance to Marlene, who often assisted with watching her grandchildren. She regularly filled them with pudding pops and cookies before sending them back home with cute craft projects in hand. In her later years she adored her visits with her great grandchildren. She would often say, “I could watch them all day,” with a big smile. Her home was rarely empty and that was how she liked it...filled with love and laughter. She will be greatly missed by those that were fortunate enough to have known her. How lucky we all are to have loved someone that makes saying goodbye so hard. In keeping with Marlene’s wishes, a private family interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
