Mary Balder

Mary Balder, age 58 of Stillwater, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on February 25, 2018 after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, accountant, and community volunteer. Mary loved family, gardening, and her dog. Born April 13, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN, Mary graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Accounting, a field in which she worked and donated her services throughout her life. Mary gave of her talents and time: she served as Trustee of her local church, manager of her childrens' sports teams, and as a board member of the United Way. She is survived by husband, Tim; children, Hannah (Ben Bauer), Joe, and Brett; parents, William and Lorraine; sisters, Carol and Barb; and loving dog, Romeo. Mary's grace and determination were an inspiration. She will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday at ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 16770 13th St S, Lake St. Croix Beach, with visitation 4-8PM Wednesday at BRADSHAW, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, and one hour prior to Mass at church. Memorials to United Way of Washington County-East, HealthPartners Cancer Care Center at Regions Hospital, or the Animal Humane Society.
