Mary Langford

Age 85 of the St. Croix Valley MN area, passed away Oct.10th 2017 after suffering a stroke and contracting Pneumonia. She was preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Eleanor (Osborn) Shinn, sisters Ruth Joan, and Gladys Meier, and her daughter-in-law Luann Clark. Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Clark, son Dan Clark, former husband Tom (Kathleen Page) Clark, husband Tom Langford, granddaughter Sarah (Ben) Johnson and great-grandson Brandon Johnson, sister Catherine (Shinn) Liptak, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was born and raised in Hart MI, graduated Hart High School in 1949, and then from Michigan State University in 1953. Mary was an athletic person, a cheerleader and a Majorette in high school, and a member of the synchronized swimming team in college. She enjoyed singing in the Church choir, spending time at Juniper Beach on Lake Michigan and acting in the Lakeshore Players theater group in White Bear, MN. She loved horses, was a very avid reader even volunteering her time reading to the Elementary students at Lilly Lake School. Family was very important to her, and the most cherished highlight in her life was becoming a Grandmother. She was loved by many, and will be truly missed; especially her laughter and fun loving spirit.
Early on, she taught elementary school and physical education, developed a home based business and waitressed. And for many years until she retired she worked as a realtor with Realty World and Edina Realty, even assisting other realtors after she retired.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the People's Congregational Church in Bayport on November 4th at 1:00 PM. Interment at Hart Cemetery in Hart, Michigan at a later date.
