Margaret passed away peacefully at her home on February 6, 2025. Margaret was born in Kansas City, KS on March 22, 1922 to Rudy and Emelia Pavlich. When she was 9 months old her parents moved to Minneapolis, MN where she met and eventually married Donald Bell. One of her greatest attributes was her thankfulness for all things she was given. Before they bought their house in Mpls she said, "Donnie, if you buy me that house, I won't ask for anything again." So he did. They moved to the house on 28th Avenue. They had 6 children. Margaret spent much of her time taking care of her children, volunteering at her church, gardening, and catering many funerals and weddings. One of her most important volunteer opportunities was "Store to Door" picking up bread and delivering it.
She loved spending time with family and friends and loved to entertain. She also loved to eat! One of her jobs was for Marketing Research as a taste tester. People knew that they could stop at Margaret's house to talk and of course she would always have some type of sweet treat on hand for company.
Margaret had a big heart. She loved watching the grandchildren and also took in friends and family who needed a place to stay for a while. Many strangers became family because of Margaret's love for people. Over the years, family and friends would spend Christmas Eve at the Bells. Those were evenings reminiscent of a Thomas Kincade painting with the snow, caroling, and of course the food! Margaret is preceded in death by 2 children, Mary, and Patricia, her sister Helen, and her parents. She is survived by Donna (Bob) Burch, John, Cathy, and Steve (Verona). 7 grandchildren Mike (Teri) Sides, Anne (Rodney) Carter, Mark (Rochelle) Sides, Patrick (Aimee) Burch, Merrick (Julie) Sides, Erica Bell, and Matthew (Tia) Bell, 12 great-grandchildren, and her 3 "adopted" children Jo Monty, James Butty, and Mary Louise Tomberlin, and many other family and friends. Her visitation will be at St. Olaf church in Mpls at 9:00 am with the service at 10:00 am. There will be lunch served following the service. A private burial will take place later that afternoon for the family.
