Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Frances Thein, (nee Dewane), age 66, of Stillwater will be held Wednesday, 11:30AM at CHURCH OF SAINT MICHAEL 611 South 3rd Street, Stillwater. Interment Saint Michael?s Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, 4:00 - 8:00PM at BRADSHAW Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5) and also one hour prior to the Mass at church.



Mary passed away peacefully on March 25, 2005 at home surrounded by family. Preceded in death by: parents Dr. Francis and Mrs. Mildred Dewane; son Rodney Thomas Thein, Jr. Survived by: husband Rodney Thein; children Katie Kimlinger (Ron), Kristin Miner (Mark), Stephen Thein (Kari), David Thein, Erin Thein; grandchildren Daniel, Joseph, Ellen, and David Kimlinger and Sarah and Steven Miner; siblings John Dewane (Barrie), Carol Bundy (Dale), Gerri Acers (Steven), Patricia McNally (Timothy), and Margaret Dewane Boren; also survived by special friends Laura, David, and Noah Tussey.



Mary was a graduate of Marquette University and was involved in the educational community for 17 years as a teacher and special needs teacher at St. Croix Valley Religious Education. After receiving her LSW, social work positions included Hennepin County Medical Center; Merrick Community Services; Metro Care Center; Family Means of St. Croix Valley. Community outreach activities included the following: Facilitator of Compassionate Friends for 13 years, a support group for parents of children who have died; May Township Planning Commission for 17 years; Board of Directors for Family Means; St. Croix Valley American Heart Association Board; American Association of University Women Board; St. Croix Valley League of Women Voters Vice President; Founding Member of PER (Periodic Evaluation and Review for District 834); Lakeview Hospital Auxiliary; St. Croix Valley Life Care Center Board; State Board of MCCL.



Mary found fulfillment and joy through her children, grandchildren, numerous friends, and world travels with her husband Rod. She touched countless lives with her love, spontaneity, kindness, and wit. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed. Memorials are preferred to Caring and Sharing Hands, St. Croix Valley Religious Education, St. Joseph's Home for Children, or Lakeview Hospital.
