Age 52. Died on December 30, 2004 of ovarian cancer. Mary Tyler was a true friend, and a devoted family member. Preceded in death by father, Paul R. Shy, brother, Paul R. Shy Jr., and father-in-law, Robert. Survived by her loving family, husband, Dick; son, Tyler; daughter, Heather (Nate) Hirsch; mother, Patsy Shy; sisters, Barbara Iverson (Scott) and Felicie (Jeff) Shy-Berry; brother John (Cyndi) Shy; mother-in-law Virginia; brothers-in-law, David (Peggy), and William (Kristie); nieces, Jennifer and Emily Shy, and Lisa (Michael) McKassey; nephew, Geof (Bridget). Also survived by many dear friends. Service Wednesday 10:00 AM at GLORIA DEI LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 Snelling Avenue South, St. Paul. Visitation Tuesday 4-7 PM at Church and also one hour prior to service. Memorials preferred to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or Hazelden Foundation. Private Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
