Mary Leonard
Leonard, Mary Jane (Kent), Age 84 Of Colorado Springs, CO Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, April 23, 2007 from Alzheimer disease. She was born in St. Paul, MN on March 17, 1923 to Borghild and John Kent. Mary Jane graduated from Murray High School in St. Paul in 1941 and then attended Rasmussen Business School. She moved to Washington D.C. to work for the State Department, Foreign Service Branch. In 1945, she married Lt. William R. Leonard, an Army-Air Force pilot. Mary Jane was a lifelong homemaker, raising four children. She loved her adventurous life accompanying her husband to military and State Department assignments in Japan, Germany, England and Laos. Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 61 years, William R. Leonard; 4 children, Laurie Epperson (Charles) of Mukilteo, WA, Linda Stephens (Frederic) of Roseville, MN, Victoria Langer (Gregory) of Northfield, MN, and William R. Leonard, Jr. (Michele) of Basking Ridge, NJ; 7 grandchildren, Frederic, Jr., Alexander and Nicholas Stephens, John and Rebecca Langer and William III and Caroline Leonard; 1 great grandchild, Evelyn Stephens; and her sister, Jean Jacobson; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11AM Friday, May 4, 2007 at BRADSHAW, 678 Snelling Ave S. at Eleanor. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
