Mauritz Albin Linder died on May 7, 2006 at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN at the age of 90. Born March 3, 1916 in Lake Fremont Township, Martin County to Albin and Amy (Peterson) Linder.
In 1961 Mauritz and his family moved to Stillwater and he began 25 years of employment with the Univ. of MN Agronomy Department soybean research. Mauritz was a past board member of U of M School of Agriculture Alumni Association, 4 H Leader for over 30 years and board member of Christ Lutheran Cemetery Association.
Mauritz was proud of his Gurnsey dairy cattle and Sufolk sheep. His hobbies included woodworking, home remodeling projects and collecting John Deere memorabilia. He maintained a large garden and was proud of his yard and trees.
Mauritz was devoted to his family. He married Hazel Parker on September 7, 1942 at New Avon Methodist Church at Redwood Falls, MN and she survives him.
Mauritz is also survived by his children, Althera (Larry) Bergren of Minneapolis, Albin of Northfield, John (Srunya) of Arlington Heights, IL, and Joy of Stillwater. Grandchildren, Kirsten Bergren of Stillwater, Jennifer Bergren of Minneapolis, Jason (Nicole) Linder of Northfield, Eric (Angelica) Linder of Northfield and Seth Linder of Farmington, Julie (Christopher) Simons of Fishers, IN, Andrew Linder of Rushford and Aimee, Dylan and Hannah Linder, all of Arlington Heights, IL; great grandchildren, Evan and Elisabeth Simons, Mariangely Linder, and Jack Linder; sister, Bernice (Ray) Spoden of Cold Spring, and sister-in-law, Phyliss Linder of Forest Lake.
Mauritz was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin, and infant twin siblings, Donald and Katherine.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10th from 5 ? 8 pm at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater, MN. Services will be held on Thursday, 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 11194 36th St. No., Lake Elmo, MN with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow service at Christ Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Long Association or Christ Lutheran Church.
