Services for Irene Maxine Berger will be Friday, December 16, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 North 4th Street. Interment Fairview Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 5:00-8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5) and also one hour prior to the service at church.
Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her home on December 12th following a brave fight with cancer.
Born in Barron, Wisconsin in 1924, Maxine attended Superior Teachers? College, graduating in 1946. She began her teaching career in Beloit, Wisconsin. In 1949 she married Herbert Berger. They lived in Barron until they moved to Stillwater in 1959. She began teaching kindergarten at Washington Elementary in 1960 and later taught at Lily Lake Elementary. She retired in 1989 after teaching kindergarten for more than 30 years.
Maxine found joy in family, children, holidays, and music. She sang in the choir at Trinity Lutheran Church for many years, often singing solos. She had a strong faith and was always involved in church activities.
She is survived by her husband Herb; two sisters, Ellen and Marie; children, Steve and wife Kathy, Deb Wall and husband Tom, Bill, Denise Adams and husband Tony, Jim and wife Doreen; and eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie, Eric, Adam, Brittany, Rachelle, Brian and Christopher. Preceding her in death were her brother Earl and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
