Maxine Joyce Mattison, 95 passed away on March 31st, 2019. She was born in Willmar, MN and was the only child of Carl and Ella Solverson. Maxine was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Willmar. She lived most of her adult life in Stillwater, MN with her husband Dale C. Mattison who was the administrator of Lakeview Hospital for many years.

Maxine taught Kindergarten at Withrow Elementary for 25 years. It was a job that she loved. There was only a morning Kindergarten class, which allowed her to enjoy afternoon games of bridge. She belonged to several bridge clubs in Stillwater.
Retirement gave Maxine the opportunity to continue her passion for bridge and pursue her interest in travel. Her and Dale traveled worldwide together and even after his passing she continued to travel.

Maxine was preceded in death by husband Dale and sons David and Robert. She is survived by son Richard Mattison of Houlton, WI, seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and daughter-in-law Char Gallati (Mattison) of Isle, MN.

There will be a private family burial on Thursday, April 4th at Fort Snelling. A visitation will be held on Friday April 5th from 2:30-4:00 pm with a celebration of life at 4:00 pm and dinner to follow. The visitation, celebration of life and dinner will be at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Stillwater, MN. Memorials to Lakeview Hospice preferred in lieu of flowers.
